Although he has reached the age of 42, Gigi Buffon is not planning to retire. The veteran from the Juventus gate decided to extend his contract until June 2021. Journalists from Tuttosport made the announcement about Buffon and claim that Juventus officials still see the goalkeeper as “a pillar of the locker room.” This season, Buffon has only seven appearances in Serie A, has been a starter in matches in Coppa Italia and evolved into a 2-0 victory with Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.

The coronavirus pandemic didn’t leave Gigi Buffon indifferent. The Juventus goalkeeper has started raising funds on social networks to help hospitals in Turin. Buffon was also the protagonist of a FIFA film, in collaboration with the World Health Organization.
