Sampdoria now seems to be out of the fight for next year’s European cups, except for surprises. The Dorian team, however, has a duty not to give up as even the teams that precede it could run into something unexpected. Genoa, however, is in better conditions than those of the first leg, thanks in particular to the precious draw brought back to Naples, despite the numerical inferiority in which it had to face most of the race due to the expulsion of Sturaro. An expulsion that seemed quite exaggerated, to which however the griffins reacted with great determination, so as to repeatedly force Karnezis to reject the dangers brought above all by Pandev. After the disadvantage of Mertens it was Lazovic who scored the equal which led to six points ahead of Empoli, third last, a gap that sounds quite important considering that only seven races are missing.

On paper, however, promises to be a balanced race, also considering how Prandelli’s Genoa has shown good things so far, despite Piatek’s departure in January. Sampdoria favored, based on the ranking, but with a Genoa ready to play its cards.
